Once Sport at IFI Events in Germany: Analysis and Scouting Conferences

Last week, we traveled to Ismaning , Germany, to participate in two significant events hosted by the International Football Institute(IFI). The first was their internal event, Match Analysis & Scouting Networking Day , followed by the first-ever IFI Scouting Konferenz 2025 . These events brought together professionals from various sides of football, providing a platform for learning, sharing, and collaboration.
Diving into Match Analysis and Scouting
The first day was dedicated to networking and exploring the latest advancements in match analysis and scouting. We displayed all of our products: Once Sport Analyser, Once Sport Telestrator, Once Sport Coach Board, and Once Sport Autocam, offering attendees a firsthand look at how technology is transforming the way football is analysed and coached.
Throughout the day, our team engaged with students eager to learn, professionals sharing their experiences, and fellow innovators presenting their solutions. The atmosphere was one of curiosity and collaboration, with discussions ranging from the practical applications of our tools to broader conversations about the future of football technology.
IFI Scouting Konferenz 2025
The second day shifted entirely to scouting and recruitment, with the premier IFI Scouting Konferenz 2025 bringing together experts to share their insights into talent identification.
We listened as Eric Standop, international consultant and face-reading master, explained the importance of understanding player personalities and how these insights can inform recruitment decisions. Following him, Daniel Ebert, Manager of Player Recruiting at Vf B Stuttgart, demonstrated data-driven approaches that help uncover hidden talent, showing how analytics can complement traditional scouting methods.
Throughout the day, networking sessions provided opportunities to connect with experienced scouts, technology providers, and curious students, and talk about the integration of software and analytics into the scouting process. The speaker list also included Max Legath , who shared strategies for talent discovery shaped by his years of experience with Bayern Munich, Basel, and Tottenham, and Julius Nagel , Director of Recruitment & Scouting at Aalborg BK, who offered a deep dive into the challenges of player transfers, financial considerations, and player valuation.
The day ended with a comprehensive discussion on the journey from scouting to transfers, highlighting the complexities, strategic thinking, and nuanced decisions that go into building successful teams. Each session showed how fascinating and ever-evolving the world of football scouting is.
Reflecting on the Experience
